May 3 Anne Frank House Museum Amsterdam

What happened on May 3?

The Anne Frank House museum opened its doors in Amsterdam on this day in 1960.
In case you haven’t visited yet, you might want to. It is an intense and very powerful place.
Anne’s diary is one of the most famous books in the history of mankind, and surely mankind’s best-known diary.

We’re not sure whether Italian philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli (*1469) kept a diary, too.
But one thing we know for sure is that he wrote many deep words on paper that inspired all generations born after him!

In case you like soothing melodies more than words, here’s just the guy for you!
“The Godfather of Soul”: James Brown (*1933).

Soul ain’t your thing?
How about this signore who is ready for all Four Seasons: Frankie Valli (*1934).

And in case you’re more in a winter spirit whilst reading this, get yourself a mulled wine and some reindeers to sing along “White Christmas” and celebrate the birthday of
Bing Crosby (*1903)!

Add some sugar to the wine to make it sweeter. Just as ‘sweet’ as Sugar Ray Robinson (*1921), one of America’s best-known boxers of all time!

To wrap up our Birthday lads for the day, we shout out to the lovely host of the ‘Great British Bake Off’ & comedian Sandi Toksvig (*1958). There is your ‘Randy Scandi Fact’ for today!
